The session of the General Assembly is conducted once in two years. The following issues are being reviewed in the work of the GA’s 5th session: introduction of amendments to the protocol of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage; reports of the Secretariat on executed work for the last two years and a number of other aspects.

The highlight of the session is the election of new members to the Intergovernmental Committee  for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
