Analytical seminar on CONVIVIALITY AND CONTENTION in Leilek

From November 4-7, 2015 CRC Aigine in together with Dr. Madeleine Reeves (University of Manchester) held a closed analytical seminar as a part of the project “Conviviality and Contention in Southern Kyrgyzstan: An Infrastructural Approach.”
The aim of the seminar was to analyze the results of the first month of field studies presented by the researchers. During fieldwork the practice Yntymak was observed and described, which has been produced by Tajiks and Kyrgyz living closely together in the villages of Andarak and Iskra, Leilek district, Batken region for decades. The project is based on the idea that peace-building practices are closely connected to and defined by conflicts. The project focuses on learning about peace-building practices around the use and development of rural infrastructure in their functional dynamics.
