On June 1, 2013 Aigine Cultural Research Center completed an international conference on The History of Perestroika in Central Asia. The conference was initiated and organized by Dr. Irina Morozova within the framework of the project The History of Perestroika in Central Asia: socio-political transformations in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia, 1982-1991. The conference was held with the financial support of the Volkswagen Foundation and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (please follow the link for more information http://www.facebook.com/events/486255114781477/)
Organizers as well as the participants emphasized successful achievement of the conference goals.
After the conference, participants had a chance to visit the Lake Yssyk-Kul. Project participant, Dr. Gulnara Aitpaeva partially allocated funds for the trip from her personal project stipend.
